The glider film that Brian and I are working on now has a title - Take Wing. We can also now announce that it is a commission for the Shot by the Sea film festival at the Electric Palace Cinema in Hastings, which runs from 25th July to 1st August.
Brian will also be showing his Aurora and Sun films in the basement of the same space.
We are also working on another stereoscopic cloud film for the Collision arts festival at Area 10 in Peckham, South London from Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th September.

Click here for a short time-lapse of glider building this afternoon. Due to the instructions only being in Japanese and my inexperience at building model aeroplanes I am sure there are bits in the wrong places. Tomorrow I will attempt to cover the wings and tail with tissue paper so it has some chance of flying (there doesn't appear to be enough tissue for both wings and the tail so the instruction sheet may get used as well...)

Brian and I have been commissioned for the Shot by the Sea film festival at the Electric Palace Cinema in Hastings, which runs from 25th July to 1st August. We will shortly start work on a new film project that combines my love of modular construction and flat pack, and his expertise with stereoscopic video and fondness for building ad hoc camera equipment. We will be making a two screen, stereoscopic video, one screen of which will be time-lapse of us constructing a free flight model glider, the other screen will be footage of the flight using two cameras attached to the wings. We have no idea how successful the flight will be but the footage should be interesting.

A copy of Field Report 2007 (The Field Report of the Field Study International) arrived from Field Study in Australia on Thursday. This is a limited edition book of artworks contributed by mail artists from around the world, a kind of catalogue or archive of some of the stuff that was going on in the world of mail art last year. It is one of the many publications organised, compiled and distributed by David Dellafiora (including ReSite, issue no.6 includes a version of Flat Pack 4). My piece for the Field Report was an audio CD of two binaural sound recordings made in Brighton in November walking to and from the BMC Gallery when the first finetuned Relay exhibition was on, attached to a page with a corresponding map of the journey.
